How does contracted school transport work in Lanarkshire?
A school or parent group contracts a set route, morning and afternoon, for the school year. Drivers are fully licensed and hold PVG Scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland where the route requires it. The same driver runs the same route, so the kids and the school know exactly who is at the wheel. Vehicles run from 8-seat minibuses to a 34-seat coach, sized to the actual register rather than the biggest bus available.
What the school gets
A fixed price for the year, a named driver, and a direct phone line when something changes: an early closure, a snow day, a trip. Day trips and sports fixtures can ride on the same relationship, quoted per run.
Getting a school route quoted
Send the route, the pickup points and the pupil count through the quote form or call 01698 537555. Quotes are written and itemised, so a bursar or parent council can compare like for like.
