Booking terms

Three sets of terms live here: one for booking seats on our advertised coach runs (gigs, day trips and events), one for coach holidays, one for private hire. Updated September 2026. Questions about any of it, call us on 01698 537555.

Part one: seats on our coach runs

What you are buying

A return seat on the coach, there and back from your chosen pickup point. Entry to the event, venue or attraction is separate and is not included in the fare unless the trip page says otherwise. We do not sell one-way seats.

Prices and the booking fee

Online bookings carry a small booking fee, shown as its own line before you pay. Book in person at the shop in Motherwell and you pay the fare as listed, with no fee. Some outlying pickups run on a feeder vehicle and carry a £5.00 charge per seat, shown beside the stop when you book.

Timings

Pickup times are approximate until we email your exact time, 24 to 48 hours before the trip. Be at your pickup 10 minutes before the time we give you. The coach waits 10 minutes at each stop. If you are not there, the coach leaves without you. On the way home the coach waits for the event to finish and leaves shortly after, so you are never stranded.

Feeder pickups

Feeder stops run when at least 6 passengers are booked across the feeder's towns. If a feeder does not reach its minimum we tell you at least 48 hours before, and you choose: a seat from a main-route stop, or a full refund of everything you paid for that booking.

If we cancel a coach

If a coach is cancelled because not enough seats sold, or for any reason on our side, you get a full refund of everything you paid, fare and booking fee both, back to the card you paid with. No forms and no quibble. We are not responsible for the cost of event tickets bought from anyone else.

If you cancel or don't travel

If you cancel your booking, or you don't travel on the day, tickets and seats are not refundable.

On board

No smoking or vaping on any vehicle. No alcohol on board: on runs to sporting events carrying alcohol on a coach is a criminal offence, and on every other run it is our rule. The driver is responsible for the safety of the vehicle and can refuse travel to anyone whose behaviour puts the coach or its passengers at risk, with no refund due. Anything left on the coach is at your own risk, though we hold found property at the shop.

Part two: coach holidays

What you are buying

A coach holiday is your return coach seat from the shop in Motherwell, your hotel for the nights advertised, the meals on the board basis stated on that holiday's page, and whatever else that page lists as included. Prices are per person based on two sharing. Room upgrades and single occupancy are quoted by the office on the phone, never charged on the website.

Deposit and balance

The website takes the deposit shown on the holiday page, per person, plus the booking fee shown before you pay. The office will phone you within 48 hours to confirm your details and agree your payment plan or one-off payment. The balance is paid a minimum of 6 weeks before departure.

Home pickup

Free home pickup and return for ML1 postcodes. Small surcharge for pickup and return outwith ML1. We tell you the price when we call. Your postcode is taken when you book so the office can quote it on the call. Collection is by our own drivers in a car, taxi or minibus, and you may share the vehicle with other customers going to the same coach.

Luggage

One case per person, about 20 kg. Folding walkers are fine. No electric buggies.

Part three: private hire

Quotes and confirmation

Quotes are based on the most direct route and the details you give us, at the costs current when we quote. Admission charges, meals, accommodation and parking are not included unless we agree them in writing. A hire is confirmed only in writing from us, and any change to it needs the same. Unless we confirm otherwise in writing, the vehicle does not stay with you between the outward and return journeys.

Deposits and payment

A non-refundable deposit secures your booking: £25 for hires under £200, £50 for hires from £200 to £500, £100 for hires over £500. The balance is due at least one week before the hire. Regular contract work runs on 30-day payment terms. Late payment can carry interest at 2% a year above the Royal Bank of Scotland base rate, counted daily.

If you cancel a private hire

The deposit is not refundable. On top of it, cancellation charges apply on this scale:

Anything we have already bought for your hire at your request and cannot return, such as accommodation, theatre tickets or meals, is charged in full.

If we cancel a private hire

In an emergency, or events genuinely outside our control (including weather and road conditions), or if the hirer changes the agreed conditions on their own, we can cancel the contract and return everything paid, with no further liability.

Vehicles, routes and delays

We may provide a larger vehicle than quoted at no extra charge, or substitute a vehicle of similar quality, including one from another operator. If the vehicle is kept longer or taken further than contracted, we can charge for the extra cost. Journey time advice is given in good faith: breakdowns, traffic and events beyond our control can extend a journey, and we are not liable for losses that follow. The agreed seating capacity is a legal limit and the vehicle cannot be loaded beyond it.

Drivers' hours

Drivers' hours are regulated by law. The hirer is responsible for keeping to the agreed times; extra costs from overruns are charged unless the delay was an emergency or a diversion outside the hirer's control. Where the schedule needs an overnight stay, the hirer books and pays for bed and breakfast accommodation for the driver; it is not in the hire price.

Passengers and property

Luggage is limited by statutory safety rules and the driver has the final say on what is carried. We do not accept liability for property left on a vehicle. No animals except assistance dogs notified in advance, unless we agree otherwise. No bills, posters or notices on any vehicle without our consent. The no smoking and no alcohol rules in part one apply to every hire, and passenger conduct is governed by the Public Service Vehicle conduct regulations 1990: the driver can remove or refuse boarding to anyone in breach.

Surcharges, complaints and law

Once a hire is confirmed, cost increases can be passed on as a surcharge only up to 30 days before departure; inside 30 days the price is fixed. Complaints should reach us in writing within 14 days of the hire. These contracts are made in Scotland and governed by Scottish law.
